The Infinite Curve

An Intersection of Light and Motion.
Location: Mexico State.
Architecture: Manuel Cervantes Estudio.
This lighting design project embraces the home’s unique boomerang geometry to create a narrative of movement and depth. Rather than a static space, the scheme utilizes the rhythmic repetition of timber columns to guide the eye along a continuous, glowing arc.
The interior lighting prioritizes the "infinite" perspective of the curved corridors, emphasizing the texture of the materials while maintaining a moody, intimate atmosphere. The warm-toned illumination highlights the dialogue between the raw wood structure and the soft, plastered walls.
Externally, the lighting celebrates the architecture's "embrace" of the forest. Low-glare uplighting on the surrounding trees transforms the landscape into a panoramic backdrop that follows the house’s curve.
