A Cabin in the Woods

This lighting design project achieves a sophisticated atmospheric narrative by prioritizing shadow and texture over uniform brightness. The scheme utilizes layered illumination to blend the architectural structure seamlessly with the surrounding forest.

Strategically placed warm-toned accents and integrated track lighting highlight the rich wood paneling and stone surfaces, creating a moody, intimate interior. Iconic Japanese-inspired paper lanterns act as soft focal points, providing a rhythmic, organic glow that mirrors the verticality of the trees outside. Externally, low-glare uplighting transforms the garden into a living backdrop, extending the visual boundaries of the home and celebrating the dialogue between nature and light.
